Antescript for writers
The notes before the first draft.
For people writing on their own or together: the outline, the research and the parts you’re not sure of yet, in pages that stay yours as plain text.
Outline first
Start from the Draft outline template and type over its prompts. Give the piece a page and each chapter or section a page under it, and drag them into order as the shape changes. Keep a page for each character or source and type @ to mention it; each page lists the pages that mention it under Linked from. Search finds a line in any page.
Try things, then go back
A snapshot of a page is kept every few minutes of editing. History lists them with a preview, and restoring one keeps the page as it was just before, so you can try a new direction and still go back. Free shows the last 7 days; Starter and Team show them all. A toggle folds away a passage you’ve cut but can’t let go of yet.
Your words, as plain text
Every page is markdown underneath. Export a page as a .md file, or the whole workspace as a zip that imports back the same, whenever you like, on every plan. Bring your notes in too: a markdown file on any plan, a folder or an Obsidian vault on Starter or Team, and a whole Notion export on every plan. Markdown has the details. Antescript sells no data and uses none to train anything.
Readers and co-writers
Share gives one page, and nothing else, to one person by their email address: a first reader, say, who reads the chapter and its comments. A co-writer edits with you, cursors and all, and comments sit beside the words they’re about. Or publish a piece to the web, for anyone to read without an account.
Antescript is free for one person, with no card. Writing with a co-writer is on Team: $10 per editor a month, or $100 per editor a year, from 2 editors. Readers you share with are viewers, free up to 10 on Free.
An assistant, if you want one
Antescript doesn’t write for you. Claude or another AI assistant you connect can read and add to your pages, but only when you ask: to check the outline against your notes, say, or to list the threads you’ve left loose. Agents has how to connect one.
