Bring notes in and out
Import markdown files, folders, Obsidian vaults or a Notion export; export a page as a .md file or the whole workspace as a zip that imports back the same.
Pages are markdown underneath, so your notes are never stuck here.
Bring notes in
Import at the foot of the sidebar takes markdown files, a folder or a zip. Folders become a page tree, images and attachments come along, and links between the files keep working. Obsidian vaults come in as they are. On Free an import makes one page; a folder, several files or a zip of them needs Starter, and an export, from Notion or one Antescript made, imports on any plan.
On a page, Import markdown above it adds a file’s content to the end of that page.
Leave Notion
In Notion’s settings, export all workspace content as Markdown & CSV with Create folders for subpages turned on, then import the zip as it downloads, even when Notion splits a large export into parts inside it. Pages keep their titles, nesting, order and links; callouts stay callouts; images come along; each database becomes a page with a table of its rows, and the rows become pages under it with their properties listed at the top. Page icons, covers and comments are not in Notion’s export, so they stay behind.
Take notes out
Export markdown above a page downloads it as a .md file with its title and dates. The menu beside Pages exports the whole workspace as a zip that imports back the same.
The markdown
GitHub-flavoured markdown, with toggles as <details> and callouts as > [!NOTE] and its kin, so they read the same on GitHub and in Obsidian. Anything markdown can’t express is kept in a comment that brings it back on import. Comments on a page are not part of its markdown.
