Plans and limits

What Free, Starter and Team each allow, what happens near a limit, how agent calls count against a daily allowance, and what a failed payment changes.

A plan covers what you own

A plan belongs to a person and covers every workspace they own. Everyone who works in your workspaces works within your plan; their own plan covers the workspaces they own. Plan & billing in the account menu shows your plan, what it uses and the other plans.

Free, Starter and Team

Free is for writing on your own: one workspace, 1 GB of files, the last week of history, and up to ten viewers to read along. It imports a file at a time, or a whole export from Notion or from Antescript. Starter gives one person room: any number of workspaces, 20 GB of files, folders and zips to import, and all of history. Team is for editing together. It is priced per editor, and its viewers, storage and agent calls grow with each one. Team can be tried free for 14 days, without a card, once.

At a limit

A control that would go past a limit stays where it is, disabled, with the reason beside it. From 75% of a limit a banner at the top tells the owner, orange at first and red from 90%; it can be put away until the limit gets closer. Reading, exporting and commenting on what you can read are never blocked, and billing never deletes anything. When an owner leaves Team, the other editors read until the owner upgrades again, and then they edit as before.

Agents

Calls through the API count against a daily allowance of the account that owns the workspace, starting again at 00:00 UTC. Past it, the API answers 402 with plan_limit and names the limit.

A failed payment

When a payment fails, everything keeps working for seven days while the card is updated under Manage billing. After that, adding people, workspaces and files waits, and if the payment never goes through the account moves to Free.
